Connection error to update Manager

Issue:  after I changed the SSL certificate on vcenter, update manager can not able to coonect to vcenter

when ever I open the client It shows error as below ( there was an error connecting to VMware update manager.





Root cause: after changed  the vcenter SSL, the connection had broken between vcenter and update manager.

og in as an administrator to the machine on which the Update Manager server is installed.
2 Navigate to the Update Manager installation directory.
The default location is
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager
.
3 Double-click the
VMwareUpdateManagerUtility.exe
 
file.
4 Type the vCenter Server machine IP address or host name and the administrative credentials to the
vCenter Server system.
 
5 Click
Login
restarted the update manager service and the problem resolved

How to change the hostname DNS IP Addresses in vRealize opration Manager 6 Appliance ( vrops) ?

Task: Recently We have changed the DNS server and after that I should have to update the DNS in vRealize operation manager Appliance .

failed solution: Since the appliance is Suse linux, I have update the DNS host name in resolv.conf file and rebooted. but unfortunately when it's up, the DNS reverted back to the old DNS.


permanent solution: after gone thru google, I found out that there is pre bash scripts available inside the server and I used those scripts to update my DNS.

bash script location: /opt/vmware/share/vami

below shows the bash scripts that are available in appliance.


FYI: the scripts available as well for other changes such as domain, ip address, gateway, hostname
